Stop back often. I’ll add content a bit at a time.
In this blog I hope to share my personal experiences with autism and lessons I have learned along the way. It can be very isolating when you have such a beautiful and unique child to experience the world with but it doesn’t have to be. We are all of us more the same than we are different and we all have so much to offer each other. I hope within these pages you find hope, encouragement, understanding and a community that believes in the uniqueness of all of us. I hope to share how important I feel it is to be inclusive with those who are different. Everyone is special and most all of us feel different in some way or another. All need to be treated with dignity and respect. I believe our world was made for more than the few who we label as “typical”. I believe neither “typical” nor “atypical” could ever be enough to describe my children or yours. I have seen a unique beauty through the eyes of my children both on and off the spectrum and my hope is to find others who feel the same so that we may begin to change the way the world sees “different”.
